When you consider that your mouse and printer take a port each and both are things you'll likely be using everyday. What are you left with? No space for everything else: external hardrives, colour printers, Ipods etc.
The solution? A USB Hub. But why settle for a normal hub? When you can have something funky or cute that makes your co-workers jealous. :)
In comes Hub Man: this cute little guy has USB ports for both arms and legs, with a little green light over where his heart would be to let you know that everything is connected properly. However as adorable as he may be he's not all that great for any device that draws power directly from your laptop or computer, like an Ipod or an external hardrive, although jump or stick drives are fine since they don't draw that much power. But generally speaking, you can always use your spare USB port for anything that draws power.
Another alternative for those all those Star Wars geeks out there is the R2-D2 Hub or the Darth Vader Bust Hub. Both hubs will light up their eyes, move their heads and play sound effects every three minutes when being connected to a computer. At first you think, wow that's cool but at the 9 minute mark you're ready to hurl the little droid or sith lord out the window. Thankfully the sound effects can be switched off. :)
Well let's say you're a different kind of geek. Like the type that likes retro things, like Cassette Tapes. Yes there is a hub for you. Well what about the geeks who want to blow things up? Maybe geeks isn't the right word, maybe you're looking for a hub to satisfy the budding office terrorist? Well there is a hub for you too.
